When they approached the vehicle and contacted the driver, they discovered that she had an active warrant out for her arrest. On October 18, 2021, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the location of the new SCV Sheriff Station on Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country. The new station isn't open yet but will be within a month. The station is being equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a new Type I jail. On the evening of Thursday, August 5th, a Santa Clarita Sheriff Station deputy performed a traffic stop near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway. As the deputy approached the vehicle and asked for the driver's identification, the suspect quickly sped away, hitting the officer with the side of the vehicle and knocking him to the ground.
