On October 18, 2021, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the location of the new SCV Sheriff Station on Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country. The new station isn't open yet but will be within a month. The station is being equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a new Type I jail. The Golden Valley Road Jail SCV will be equipped to house inmates for up to 96 hours after their arrest. On the evening of Thursday, August 5th, a Santa Clarita Sheriff Station deputy performed a traffic stop near Via Princessa and Sierra Highway. Recently, deputies working out of the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station responded to a domestic violence call in Valencia. When they arrived, they discovered money, narcotics, and paraphernalia, as well as mail and credit cards, addressed to people other than the suspects.
