On October 18, 2021, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the location of the new SCV Sheriff Station on Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country. The new station isn't open yet but will be within a month. The station is being equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a new Type I jail.
