When someone is arrested virtually anywhere in Santa Clarita, they’re taken to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station to undergo booking and processing. This is the procedure during which arrestees have their photographs taken, fingerprints recorded, and a comprehensive national background check is conducted. Once all of that is complete, bail is set for those who are eligible and it is possible to secure their release via bail bond.
While some inmates are bailed out immediately, many are not. The jail at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station is only designed to hold about 4o inmates for up to 72-hours. Should someone still be in custody after that period is over, or if the on-site jail becomes overcrowded, inmates will begin being transferred to larger long-term holding facilities in downtown Los Angeles, including Twin Towers Jail.
To bail someone out of a local jail, begin by calling and providing us with some identifying information on the person you want to bail out of jail. We will use this info to locate them within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once that has been completed, we will have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms. Last, we dispatch an agent to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released within a few hours or so.
The process for bailing someone out of Twin Towers Jail is much the same as a local jail, but the timetables are somewhat different. For example, booking and processing usually takes anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours at a local jail. However, processing transfer inmates at Twin Towers can take upwards of 12 hours – sometimes longer. And you’re looking at a similar time frame for them to be processed out once bail has been posted. That being said, it’s almost always going to be better to bail someone out of jail when they are at a local police station rather than one of the larger jails, though it isn’t always possible. Luckily, bailing someone out of Twin Towers isn’t all that hard, it just takes a little longer.
