San Francisquito Canyon was created over thousands of years of erosion of the Sierra Pelona Mountains by the San Francisquito Creek. In the early 1800s, the area was a popular place to pan for gold – that is until the California gold rush of 1849. Now, the area sees little activity and spotted here and there with farms and ranch-style homes.

Deputies working out of the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station patrol the area in and around San Francisquito Canyon. When someone is arrested, they are taken to the sheriff station to undergo booking and processing, after which bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.

The on-site jail at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station is small, and is only intended for the temporary housing of a few inmates. So, if the jail gets overcrowded or if an inmate remains there for longer than 72-hours, it is likely that they will be transferred to one of the larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Men are sent to Twin Towers and women are sent to the Lynwood Jail.

Upon transfer, inmates will need to go through another round of processing which can take up to 24-hours to complete. During this period, they will be unable to be bailed out. As such, it is often best to get the bail bond process started while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station Jail as doing so can usually avoid the transfer process altogether.

Booking and Processing

Booking and processing is the procedure in which an individual has their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and then a comprehensive national background check is conducted. Only after booking and processing has been completed will bail be set, and the procedure can take anywhere from 45-minutes to a few hours, depending on how busy the jail is at the time of arrest.

The Bail Bond Process

To bail someone out of jail, just give us a call and provide us with their name, birth date and the date and time of arrest. We will use that information to locate them within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once we do that, we will then have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we send someone to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released a short time later.

If you are unable to meet with us in person, we are more than happy to handle the entire bail bond application process via phone, fax or email. Whatever works best for you works best for us, just let us know how you’d like to handle it.
