LASD Inmate Information

When someone is arrested at Placerita Canyon, they will be taken immediately to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station to undergo booking and processing. This is the procedure in which they will have their fingerprints recorded, photograph taken and a national background check is conducted. Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible.

The on-site jail at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station is small, with room for only about 40 inmates. It’s also only intended to be used as a short-term holding facility. As such, if the jail gets overcrowded, or if an individual remains there for longer than 72-hours, it is likely that they will be transferred to Twin Towers (for male inmates) or the Lynwood Jail (for females). When transfer occurs, inmates will likely spend at least an additional 12 to 24-hours in custody as they are processed in at the new facility. To avoid the transfer process altogether, it’s usually best to start the bail bond application process while they’re still at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station.

The Bail Bond Process

To bail someone out of jail, first give us a call and provide us with their name, birth date and the date and time of arrest. We will use the information to locate them within the system and verify that they are eligible for bail. Then, we have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we send someone to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released a little while later.

We’re local to the Santa Clarita Valley, and can meet you anywhere. However, if you’re not local, or are otherwise unable to meet with us, we can handle the entire bail process via phone, fax or email.
