Santa Clarita Sheriff Station deputies are stationed at College of the Canyons to provide security, monitor the parking lot, and also provide 24-hour escort service to students. The campus safety department can be reached at 661-362-3516.

When they end up arresting someone on campus, they take the arrestee to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station to undergo booking and processing. Once it has been completed, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.

Those who are not bailed out within 72-hours will be transferred to a larger jail in downtown Los Angeles. Males are sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility while females are sent to the Lynwood Jail (CRDF).

When a transfer occurs, there will be a period of 12-24 hours in which the inmate will be waiting their turn to be processed in to the new facility. During this period, the inmate cannot be bailed out. Only after they have been processed in can bail be posted, and the inmate will then be put in line to be processed out. Starting the bail bond process while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Jail will often avoid the transfer process altogether.

Arrest and Booking Process

Immediately after someone is arrested, they are taken to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station where they must undergo booking and processing. This is where they have their fingerprints recorded, photograph taken and a national background check is conducted. Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to bail them out via bail bond.

Why Bail Someone Out?

When someone is arrested, they are held in police custody until their court date. This can be an incredibly stressful experience, due to the inability to have any interaction with the outside world. When you bail someone out of jail, it allows them to find legal counsel, continue attending work or school, and also to make arrangements in their life if they plan to spend time in jail after their court date.

How to Bail Someone Out

To bail someone out of jail, first give us a call and provide us with their full name, date of birth and the date and time of their arrest. If you’re not sure about all of this information, call anyway – we can still help you out. We will use the information you provide to locate the defendant within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once that’s complete we have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we send someone to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released shortly thereafter.

We’re local to the Santa Clarita Valley, and our office is right across the street from the jail. We can easily meet with you wherever you like or, if you prefer, the entire bail bond application process can be completed via phone, fax or email.
