LASD Inmate Locator
Deputies working out of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station patrol the city of Newhall as well as The Master’s College. When someone is arrested on campus, they are taken to the sheriff station to undergo booking and processing, after which bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.
The on-site jail is designed to hold no more than 40 inmates at a time, for a period no longer than 72-hours. If an inmate remains at the jail for longer than 72-hours, or if it becomes overcrowded, inmates will begin to be transferred to larger holding facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Male inmates will be sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility while female inmates are sent to the Lynwood Jail.
When an inmate is transferred to one of the larger jails, they can expect to spend an additional 12 to 24-hours in police custody as they are processed in at the new facility. Beginning the bail bond process while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station jail can often avoid the transfer process altogether.

Arrest and Booking Process in Santa Clarita
Immediately after being arrested, arrestees are taken to the sheriff station where they will have their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and a national background check will be conducted. The entire procedure can take anywhere from 45-minutes to several hours to complete, depending on how busy the sheriff station is at the time of arrest. Bail is set only after this procedure has been completed, and it is impossible to bail them out beforehand.
