The part of Highway 126 that runs through the Santa Clarita Valley is patrolled by deputies working out of the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station. When arrested in this area, individuals will be taken to the sheriff station to undergo booking and processing. They can remain at the jail for up to 72-hours, provided that the jail itself does not become overcrowded. If it does, or if an inmate has remained in custody there for 72-hours, it is likely that they will be transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility (in the case of men) or the Lynwood Jail (in the case of women). Once transfer occurs, the inmate will have to spend at least an additional 12 to 24-hours in custody as they go through another round of processing at their new location. To avoid this, it is best to get the bail bond process started while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station Jail.

Those who are arrested in Ventura County will not be taken to Santa Clarita, but instead to the Ventura Police Station to undergo booking and processing. If not bailed out within 72-hours, inmates will be transferred to the Ventura County Jail and will need to be bailed out from that location instead.
