As mentioned above, the majority of the areas that Bouquet Canyon runs through are policed by Santa Clarita Sheriff Station deputies. That being the case, when someone is arrested on Bouquet Canyon, they are taken to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station to undergo booking and processing. Once complete, bail is set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.
Those who do not get bailed out within 72-hours will likely be transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility (male inmates’ destination) or the Lynwood Jail (female inmates’ destination). These jails are much larger and busier, and transfer will significantly increase the amount of time an inmate spends in custody. When the bail bond process is started quickly, while the inmate is still located at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station jail, it is possible to avoid the transfer altogether.
What is a Bail Bond?
Bail is the amount of money the courts will require in order to allow an inmate out of custody, pending their trial. This amount can be pretty expensive, and most people don’t have the money lying around to pay it. A bail bond, then, is a way to get someone out of custody by paying only 10% of the total bail amount. They’re also very fast, often resulting in an inmate’s release within 24-hours of their arrest.
Why Bail Someone Out?
Bailing someone out of jail allows them to go about their daily life as they await their day in court. While out on bail, a defendant can use their time to find legal counsel, attend work and/or school and take care of family obligations. If they expect to spend time in jail, they can make preparations to do so, while minimizing the damage done to their life.
The Bail Bond Process
The bail bond process is very simple. It requires that you first give us a call and provide the name, birth date and date and time of arrest of the person you want to bail out so that we can locate him or her within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once this has been established, we have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our agents to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will then be released as soon as possible.
If you aren’t able to meet with us in person, or simply prefer to handle the bail bond process from the comfort of your own home or office, we are equipped to handle the bail bond process from start to finish via phone, fax or email.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
As mentioned above, the cost of a bail bond is 10% of the total bail amount. So, if bail is set at $15,000, then it will cost $1,500 to get them out of jail using a bail bond.
Most of our clients choose to pay with their debit/credit cards, of which we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover as well as cash, business or personal checks, money orders, bank account transfers and money wire.
If you’re interested in financing your bail bond, let us know. We have a variety of flexible payment plans that are designed to fit most any budget.
No matter how you choose to pay, we never include any additional fees, charges or interest. You pay only 10% of the total bail amount and nothing more.
