On October 18, 2021, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the location of the new SCV Sheriff Station on Golden Valley Road in Canyon Country. The new station isn’t open yet but will be within a month.
The station is being equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a new Type I jail. The Golden Valley Road Jail SCV will be equipped to house inmates for up to 96 hours after their arrest. That means that those looking for new SCV jail bail bonds can have as many as four days (as opposed to three) to bail their friends or loved ones out at the new station.
The original SCV Sheriff Station on Valencia Blvd. will remain open until all of the relevant equipment, files, and staff are transferred to the new location. So, even when the new Golden Valley Road station is up and running, it’s possible that arrestees will still be taken to the old SCV Sheriff Station for a period of time.
