When arrested in the Santa Clarita Valley, both men and women are immediately taken to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station where they will undergo booking and processing. The process can take up to several hours to complete depending on how busy the station is, and inmates are usually held at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station Jail for up to 72-hours afterward. Bailing someone out during this period ensures that they will spend as little time as possible in police custody. If the period of 72-hours passes, or the jail begins to get overcrowded, inmates will be transferred to one of the much larger long-term holding facilities in Los Angeles.

It’s at this point that the process in which male and female inmates are handled begins to differ. When women are transferred out of the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station Jail, they’re sent to the Century Regional Detention Facility, a.k.a. the Lynwood Jail, whereas men are most often sent to either Twin Towers or Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.

When women arrive at the Lynwood Jail, they will need to go through another round of processing at their new location. This process usually takes much longer than the one that occurred at their previous location because the Lynwood Jail is much larger and busier. After a period of anywhere between 12 and 24 hours, female inmates will once again be eligible to be bailed out.

To bail someone out of the Lynwood Jail, give us a call and provide us with their name, birth date and the date and time of their arrest. If you’re not sure about that last part, don’t worry, we can still help you out. You will then need to fill out or bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we send one of our agents to the Lynwood Jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released once they are processed out.
